GARY H. EDELSTONE
Gary H. Edelstone has twenty-six years of experience in the tax and estate planning fields. He is certified as a Specialist in Taxation Law by the California State Bar's Board of Legal Specialization. He is an honors graduate of the University of Southern California (B.A. 19070) and Loyola University School of Law (J.D. 1975), and he holds a Masters of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Taxation from the Georgetown University Law Center (1976).
Mr. Edelstone is a past Chair of the Taxation Section of the Beverly Hills Bar Association. He is also a past Chair of the Entertainment Tax Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar's Section of Taxation and of the Passthrough Entities and Real Estate Tax Committee of the Beverly Hills Bar's tax section. He is a member of the Planning Committee of the Entertainment Tax and Finance Institute, a member of Steering Committee of the California State Bar Tax Policy Committee, and a member of the Legislative Committee of the Beverly Hills Bar Association Probate and Trust Section.
In 2002, Mr. Edelstone Chaired the California Society of Certified Public Accountant's two day conference entitled "Tax Planning For High Net Worth Individuals."
By special invitation, Mr. Edelstone made presentations to the staffs of the House Ways & Means Committee, the Joint Committee on Taxation, Senate Finance Committee and U.S. Treasury Department on a tax legislative proposal. He also conducted a training seminar for the IRS National Office in Washington. Mr. Edelstone is a planned giving adviser to many charitable organizations in the Los Angeles community.
Mr. Edelstone has written and spoken extensively on tax and estate planning issues on behalf of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and he has taught in these areas for the UCLA extension division.
